Willis Tower, Chicago

Hello fellow blog readers! Today me and Oskar reached Chicago, the last stop of the road! We figured we should wait a while with eating. If we'll starve ourselves for a while, we could eat just in time before boarding the plane, so that we won't starve to death on the long ride home. That lead us to visiting a landmark, the other thing that we're in great interest of. We decided that the Willis Tower would be the perfect place to visit, and that was one of our best decisions so far!

This building is magnificent. It's probably the most wonderful building I've ever seen. It's an odd skyscraper, due to the fact that it's black, and tall as hell which makes it an impossible sight to miss.

After seeing the magnificence of Willis Tower, we decided to go up there as well. Took some time to convince Oskar, due to his fear of heights. I finally convinced him though. We agreed that if I bought a cola for him in the reception he'd accompany me up.

When we reached the top, the view over Chicago took our breath away, and we noticed the road we've driven on all this way. I was going to take a picture, but at the moment I was supposed to click I dropped it on the building next to us and it broke in thousand of pieces.

After that we got kind off mad, so we just went straight down to the bottom and headed for the closest burger place. We both took a burger, just because we're in Chicago, ate it up quickly and headed for the airport.

Sitting on the plane writing this makes me a little bit more angry about the camera, so I think I'm going to stop writing now. Cheers to everyone who's followed us on this amazing journey!

Ted Drewe's delicious desserts, St. Louis, Missouri

Hello there, been a while! We've been busy lately, me and Oskar. Eating, sleeping and being lazy like always. We've taken a little break from posting, but we're back on track! We've seen things, done things and cruised on route 66, but nothing in comparison to this. Ted Drewe's Frozen Custard. It was the most delicious 

banana split I've ever eaten, and totally worth $5.50. Just look at it!

Oskar choose something different, but still delicious looking even though I saw him lick the rests from the corner of his mouth. He choose to have an ''All shook up''  an ice cream with mixed peanut butter cookies and bananas by the cost of $5.70. We weren't allowed to take a picture of the ice creams, so he couldn't catch a picture. However, I didn't know before it was too late, so I decided to post it anyways. 

We sat there for about 20 minutes eating, then 1 hour just enjoying the aftertaste of these delicious desserts. 

In comparison to Swedish desserts, this was much more filling, unhealthy and delicious. Food in the States is a whole lot better than in Sweden, at least for us since neither of us are overweight and we both love unhealthy food. 

After pounding those delicious desserts, we headed out on the road again. See you later, fellow blog followers!

Continuing on the trip, riding on the wonderful road known as Route 66, after stopping by at that delicious steakhouse. We still couldn't stop thinking about food though! We stopped by an old General Store called Hackberry General Store.

We bought some subway sandwiches, some classic route 66 soda water, and a classic plaid picnic blanket, planning for a picnic. A guy in the store recommended us to stop by at Siltgreaves Pass, since it was a great landmark and had a great view over the mountains, and that's exactly what we did. 

We continued on the road and passed a couple of bikers screaming: Woo, motherf*ckers! In full speed. Me and Oskar decided to drive up to the top of the mountain and have our picnic up there, stupid as we are. So we drove up there, and right when we had taken out all of our sandwiches, taking the first bite, then suddenly the wind blew everything away. We laughed and jumped in the car, starving, hoping there will be a restaurant nearby. That's all for today, see you soon!

After we ate that hotdog, but we still weren't full. We continue on the road anyway. When we were in Kingman we heard of a steakhouse. We were still hungry since Los Angeles, so we decided to stop. We ran into the steakhouse and ordered the fastest, most delicious cooked steak we both have ever eaten. Both of us ordered 2 T-bone steaks, 20 oz. each.

After we pounced that hawt dawg steak, we went straight out to the car to get some sleep. It has been a long drive, without sleep and a lot of stress.

After that refreshing nap we continued driving on route 66.

Road trip - Our stay in LA

LOS ANGELES!

We just arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and we had some trouble with the luggage at the bagage claim, but we sorted that out. Someone took the wrong luggage, and noticed that pretty early, so we got it back just an hour after our arrival. 

Soon after the arrival we got hungry, so we went and bought a typical Los Angeles chili hotdog. IT WAS AMAZING! Just look at it! It was like eating pure love. The taste and smell was magical! If you ever go to Los Angeles you have to try it out!

The weather in LA is fantastic! Compared to cold old Sweden this place is a dream in heaven! It's around 20 degrees Celsius! 

While driving through LA you can't avoid to notice all the palm trees on the sides of the roads, it made us think of Trelleborg back in Sweden (although it is not even close to the same amount as in LA). 

We thought about staying in LA for a couple of days, we haven't really planned our stay in LA very well, but we will see in time, maybe we will stay here for all the five weeks! No that does not sound like much fun. But it is still an amazing city.

We are going to go to the Paramount pictures and to Venice Beach, maybe we'll also go and get one of those star maps and have ourselves a look around the "neighborhood". ;)

We have been very bad when it comes to planning where we shall sleep. We both thought sleeping in the car sounded like a great idea at first, but then we heard about a law that prohibited sleeping in your car, we are not sure if this law is so called "used" and active in LA, so we had to rethink our strategy when it came to that. The last thing you want to do when you're in another country is to go to jail or do something illegal at all!

We are looking forward to the five weeks ahead of us and we both just know that it is going to be a journey of a lifetime!
